I offer advanced document formatting and fixing.  I can offer specific formatting on a per-page basis, for example inserting cross referencing, advanced table of contents or fixing headings.  Alternatively I can provide a complete document service to check and format/fix the entire document, again on a per page basis.

Given my advanced word knowledge I can fix documents where you may be having trouble with numbering that has gone awry, or formatting that has gone wrong.  No matter what the problem, I can fix it.  Perhaps you have a document which is quite plain and you need it to be presented in a better format, no problem at all!


Proof Reading

I can offer a detailed proof reading service for you.  I can spot changes in font and even where there are two spaces but should only be one!  You can be confident that your document will be checked for any non-sense grammar, spelling mistakes, or formatting errors.

My aim is to take away the worries of the administration, providing you with an efficient and quality service in a timeframe to suit you.

My Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate in Microsoft Word, stands me in a good position to provide training and assistance with anything in relation to Microsoft Word. I have an advanced understanding of this programme, enabling me to provide you with an advanced, detailed service.


Audio Typing

I can audio type to a very high standard.  I use an electronic dictation programme enabling me to receive files via email.  The programme comes with a friendly add-on which my clients can use to record their dictation on their machine if they don't already have access to software.

All recordings are run through a second time and all transcripts are proofread at no extra cost to the client.  Internet research is carried out where necessary.  These processes take place to ensure that my high standards of quality are maintained.  I never compromise my standards by taking on more transcription than I have the capacity to deal with.  I do not restrict myself to standard office hours and, if your project is urgent, I am pleased to offer a flexible service to meet your needs.

Conversion of Documents to PDF

Security of documents is essential to any small business.  With the use of email to send documents being common practice, it is easy to send a document with a signature attached without giving it a second thought - but you must.  If you send a word document with a signature image attached, the recipient then has access to that signature to re-use.

Another common problem is sending documents to people with different versions of office, often formatting can change, margins can move and your wonderfully formatted document suddenly looks a mess.

Do not worry, help is at hand.  I can convert your documents into a PDF format.  Adobe Reader is free to download and installed on the majority of home and office computers, ensuring your document retains the correct format for reading but not editing (or removing the signature).

Word Processing

I can type up text from a variety of sources; be it digital dictation, printed text or handwritten notes. I can either format into a suitable style based on the content, or format into your house style as notified. I am also able to re-create documents from hard copies.  I can type at up to 75 words per minute with 100% accuracy.

Manuscripts are counted by page rather than computer word count because authors write with varying amounts of 'white space'... It's possible a page with a good deal of narrative might contain 300+ words, while a page with lots of short dialogue might be not more than 200.

Pages typed in standard Times New Roman 12 pt. font with 2.0 spacing contain an average of 330 words each.  A page with single line spacing would expect to contain 500 to 800 words; however this does depend on the length of the words, and is only meant as a guide.

If you are in need of a template for regular use, for example a report or letter; I can create a template to your requirements that you can use over and over again.  Templates can help save valuable time, which saves you money.
